This little house that chose me 6 years ago



is now a home for sweet colors and fragrances



for birds, butterflies and beyond
for the peace, happiness, and growing time

A ray of afternoon sun
Like a happy butterfly
Resting on a little girl's topaz hair



Jade

Elves whispering, faeries giggling
A rich forest of jade
Found in the summer lake



Ruby

Thousands of Christmas candle light
decorate autumn air
Sweet, tender, mischievous ruby glow



Blue Sapphire

Let the sunlight dance with you
Let your reflection float on the water
Sapphire blue
Gathers around the edge of a day dream



Pearl

Ether of pearl
Feathering the sky
A soft line-break
Between the blue infinities



Warm breeze waltz through the valleys
Tickling the grape leaves
Splashing the lake surface

And the jewel colors blossom
Everywhere in Chelan

Mother

There was once a girl
who gathered light around her
and carried music within
who had quiet dreams
peace, and joy for life

She fell in love and became my mom




She thought there was nothing sweeter than babies
"I just couldn't get enough of you."
She later told me
"I knew I was meant to be your mom. I couldn't be happier."

With her soft smiles that made us feel safe
with her gentle hands that nudged us to test the wings

























We were not exactly trouble-free teenagers
None of us took the easiest path
All the challenges
All the stumbling
We couldn't have made it without you mom



Thank you for giving us strength and balance
for letting us welcome life with both arms wide open
for putting us on the driver's seat of our lives
for filling up our heart with today and tomorrow
with love and happiness
